Key Benefits

Latimer Education After-School Program offers free homework assistance, remediation and enrichment services to students in grades 1-8 in the City of Schenectady who are in need of help. The program operates Monday through Thursday for one and a half hours from the beginning of the school year in September until the end of May at Carver Community Center and Yates Village. The program is staffed with degreed/certified teachers in each classroom. Each classroom is equipped with a minimum of six computers, high speed internet connections and a myriad of classroom computer programs. Special emphasis is placed on reading and mathematics.


 

 

 

 

The Program tries to limit its enrollment to six students per class, but will not turn students away because of space limitations. As such, we can successfully accommodate 50 students per day.
