Our Volunteers
The Carver Food Pantry and Clothing Distribution Programs are operated
entirely by volunteers (some of which have been volunteering with us for more
than 20 years), with the support of Carver staff. More
than a dozen such volunteers give of their time twice monthly, on Wednesday
beginning at 12:30 p.m., helping
to pack and distribute a considerable amount of
foodstuffs to an average of 400 families each month.
Our Resources
Produce, packaged foods, bread, pastries and other staples are included in the
weekly distribution obtained through the Regional
Food Bank in Latham. Carver’s food pantry is a supplemental program designed to
help low income families augment their weekly
food needs.
The success of our Clothing Distribution is directly related
to the donations received from churches, synagogues, civic organizations and
individuals from throughout the County. In addition to clothing, we also receive
household goods, toys and other hard-good items from these same sources. All
items are free to those in need and all donations are appreciated.
