Key Benefits
Carver Day Care Center is licensed by the New York State Office of Children
and Family Services to provide day care services to seventy five (75) children
ages 18 months to 12 years of age. The day care center is divided in to four (4)
classrooms: toddlers, pre-school, pre-K and school age.
The day care center is open from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. year ‘round. The day
care center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program by providing
the children with breakfast, lunch and snack.
Carver provides a high quality day care program that fosters a safe, cheerful
and responsive learning environment. Classroom materials are carefully selected
to encourage children to explore, manipulate, try out, master, create and learn
in many different ways. In addition, the daycare center’s curriculum focuses on
creating a multi-cultural approach to learning that encourages all children to
appreciate their heritage and those of their classmates.
Carver Day Care Center maintains reasonable group sizes that allow for teachers
to provide individualized attention to their children. Our teachers are well
qualified and competent; they work as a team, and they are able to apply their
understanding of child development and early childhood principles to their
teaching. Our teachers use effective and positive communication skills to
provide a consistent and congruent experience for our day care children and
their parents.
Carver Day Care Center also provides referrals for evaluations for children who
may need special services, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy,
physical therapy and psychological services.
The day care center has a computer program, an on site Schenectady Branch
Library and large gym on premises which are incorporated into the children’s
learning environment.
