FOSTER CARE PREVENTION PROGRAM Key Benefits The Carver Foster Care Prevention Program was introduced to the community in
October 1990. The program strives to remove the risk of harm from the family
rather than removing the child. By focusing on the family as a unit, parents are
supported in their striving to plan responsibly for their children. The teaching
power of the Carver Foster Care Prevention Program combined with parent power,
adds up to a tremendous force—a force that can initiate change and prevent child
abuse and maltreatment. The mission of the program is to enhance the parent’s
role by strengthening the parent—child relationship.

study.
The Enhanced Services Program (case management and outreach services) is an
extension of the Foster Care Prevention Program. It is set up to meet the
concrete
needs of those families already receiving preventative services.
