Key Benefits

Latimer Education offers an after school program to provide homework assistance, remediation and enrichment services to students in grades 1-8 in the City of Schenectady who are one or more years behind in math and/or reading. The program operates Monday through Wednesday, from the beginning of school in September until the end of May, out of three sites with two classrooms per site: Carver Community Center’s main building, Steinmetz Homes and Yates Village. Each classroom is equipped with six computers, high speed internet connections and an intranet connection with the Schenectady City School District’s CCC Success Maker Program. Students are taught by certified/degreed teachers.

The Program tries to limit its enrollment to six students per class, but will not turn students away because of space limitations. As such, we can successfully accommodate 50 students per day.
